Málaga introduces automatic TIE fingerprint appointments

From 9 October 2026, favourable decisions issued by the Málaga Immigration Office can automatically trigger a request for a TIE fingerprint appointment. The National Police assigns the appointment at the police station nearest to the applicant’s residence and sends the details by SMS and/or email to the person designated for notifications.

The system does not cover conditional approvals where the applicant must first complete another step, such as entering Spain or registering with Social Security. If an automatically assigned appointment is cancelled, the case returns to the automatic process when dates are available; an unexplained no-show means a new appointment must be booked through the ordinary system.

This is a local procedural change in Málaga, not a nationwide rule. Applicants should keep their contact details current and read the appointment message carefully.
