How it works

A transparent calculation

Annual SMI includes 14 payments. Divide it by 12 months, then apply 200% for the remote worker, plus 75% for the first accompanying family member and 25% for each additional family member.

€1,221.00 × 14 / 12 = €1,424.50

(2 + 0) × €1,424.50 = €2,849.00

Monthly amounts are rounded separately to cents; the breakdown may differ from the total by one cent. The annual figure is calculated before monthly rounding.

Income, savings and supporting evidence

The calculator only models the income reference. Digital Nomad Visa applications also depend on remote-work eligibility, professional or employment evidence, social-security/tax documentation, health insurance and the competent authority’s current instructions.
